Machine modernisation – an efficient alternative
Older machines are often still in good mechanical condition, but the control and drives need updating.

Why Retrofit?

Existing machines can be updated by replacing outmoded components and adding new, modern technological developments. This modernisation increases productivity for considerably less than the cost of purchasing a new machine – a big advantage for the operator.

Retrofit – modern control technology for solid, old mechanics

It is a well-known fact that “Reichenbacher” machines and units last for decades. However, whilst the solid mechanics can withstand years of wear and tear, the control components, and in most cases also the drive technology, become outdated and some components are no longer available.

Reichenbacher Hamuel now offers several possible options. Depending on machine condition and equipment, the entire switch cabinet together with the axis drives can be exchanged, or a combination of new control with old drives can be integrated into the existing switch cabinet. The facility to retrofit new drive technology is already provided for with this option and can be carried out at any time in the future.

A complete exchange of control and drive system should always be undertaken on older machines that are equipped with a transistor converter.

What does retrofit mean?
